QUEBEC CITY, Oct. 27, 2026 /CNW/ -- Beneva unveiled improvements to its individual insurance and financial services offering in an effort to better protect families and help support their life projects. On October 20, these improvements not only apply to Beneva's insurance coverage but to its savings and investment solutions as well.

More coverage options for individuals and families
Without affecting premiums, Beneva was able to revamp its critical illness coverage with an Enhanced protection that covers 26 illnesses and a Basic option that covers 4. Beneva also removed the survival period following diagnosis for certain illnesses, risk permitting.

For children aged 17 and under, Beneva expanded its insurance offering with a term option covering 30 critical illnesses as well as a Term Plus life insurance option, both of which can either be renewed, transformed or exchanged without proof of insurability based on the product. Beneva also relaxed its total disability rider's rules for greater flexibility.

More savings and investment products
Three new funds were added to Beneva's investment accounts: Dividend Growth (TDAM), Canadian Small-cap Equity (TDAM) and Global Innovators (Fidelity). Available with 75/100 and Enhanced 75/100 guarantees, these funds make an already diversified offering even more so and give advisors as well as their members additional flexibility when it comes to creating strategies adapted to their financial goals.

For future homeowners, Beneva added a First Home Savings Account (FHSA) to its line of financial products. Available with investment accounts as well as guaranteed interest accounts (GIAs), this investment vehicle allows eligible members to save up for a first home while taking advantage of tax incentives as well as the ability to pool these products under one contract and one statement.

"These new products are a testament to our willingness to meet the needs of growing families. Whether it be taking out insurance for a child, reducing the financial burden caused by critical illness or preparing a first-home purchase, we want our products to be relevant, accessible and easy to understand", said Lara Nourcy, Executive Vice-President and Leader of Individual Insurance and Financial Services at Beneva.

Changes made since spring
In addition to these products, improvements were made to permanent life insurance in April 2026 and four new investment accounts were launched in June 2026. Beneva improved rates and cash value on several of its permanent life insurance product and expanded access to its total disability rider provisions, which can now be transformed or exchanged.

With these improvements, Beneva is strengthening the quality and competitiveness of its individual insurance and financial services offerings to better meet the needs of individuals and families at every stage of their life.
