RATIFICATION OF A NEW COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT: END OF THE LABOUR DISPUTE AT THE PRODUCE DISTRIBUTION CENTRE IN LAVAL, TRANSPORTATION AND HEAD OFFICE

MONTREAL, Sept. 24, 2026 /CNW/ -- METRO Inc. (TSX: MRU) announces that the unionized employees of its Produce distribution centre in Laval, transportation and head office, represented by STTEUMR (CSN), have ratified the new collective agreement, following the tentative agreement reached on September 17, 2026.
The new collective agreement, which will be in effect for five and a half years, brings an end to the labour dispute that began on March 30, 2026.
"We are pleased with the ratification of this new collective agreement, which establishes a stable and predictable framework for the coming years. We thank the teams who helped keep our operations running during the dispute, and we are now focusing our efforts on a gradual and safe resumption of operations," said Caroline Larocque, Vice President, Logistics and Distribution, Quebec, METRO.
Operations will resume gradually starting September 27, 2026.
In the meantime, our stores continue to be well stocked to meet our customers' needs.
